BSANA Area

Hello and welcome to the website for the people who live or work in the Baker Street area of Reading in Berkshire.

The aims of the Baker Street Area Neighbourhood Association (BSANA) are to develop our sense of community and improve our local environment. You are invited to get involved or join our mailing list.

Thanks to all who have helped with past events. It all goes to making our neighbourhood a nicer and more friendly area to live in.

Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Information if you are in need of help.

Please note all BSANA events are cancelled until further notice. We’ll start up again as soon as it’s safe to do so and we have volunteers keen to start planning events. We hope you understand.

Community (i.e. open to all) events being hosted by others in the neighbourhood:

Carey Open Air CaféAdd to Calendar See venue on map (opens in new window)Tuesday, 20 April 2021
Carey Open Air Café

Time: 2:00pm – 4:00pm.
Venue: The Oasis Car Park (entrance on Carey Street)

Carey Baptist Church  bought The Oasis in 2009 after it closed as a pub, and re-opened it as a safe place for the community, to get to know local people. They liked the pub-feel so they kept the bar and made it comfortable!

For now Carey Baptist Church is hosting their weekly event that is open to everyone in the neighbourhood outdoors in the carpark. As they say, things may be different, but they still want to do what they can to serve our community! They hope you’ll pop along and enjoy a cuppa (tea, coffee or squash), homemade cake and a chat with people in the neighbourhood.

Oxford Road Safer Neighbourhood Forum

Time: 7:00pm – 9:00pm.Venue: Online

The Oxford Road Safer Neighbourhood Forum is part of a force wide initiative that was established by Thames Valley Police in 2007 (originally called the NAG), that deals with key police and safety issues that have been identified by the community. Anyone is welcome to attend and, if you want, raise any policing or safety issues for the area (in our case those living on or near the Oxford Road in Reading – in Abbey and Battle wards). Representatives from Thames Valley Police normally attend and give a general update on policing in the area as well as addressing any specific concerns (without giving out confidential information on current operations). If you would like to attend please e mail: Charlotte.Deallie@thamesvalley.pnn.police.uk
