Volunteering

Over the coming weeks and months there will be groups of people who will need all the support they can get in the fight against the coronavirus (COVID-19). These include, in particular, frontline NHS workers, the vulnerable and key workers.

BSANA has recently been exploring how it can best provide information and help locally. All the mentioned groups will benefit the most if we can be extra vigilant in trying to avoid catching the virus and passing it on.   We can best do that by following the latest government advice.  However, if anyone feels that they would like to do more to help then we recommend contacting the organisation called Reading Voluntary Action (RVA).

Since being founded, BSANA has been supported by RVA which has a close working relationship with many of Reading’s charities and with Reading Borough Council (RBC). RVA is a well-resourced charity that has significant experience in successfully matching volunteers to suitable roles.  They also have well established best practice so as best to protect both volunteers and the recipients of help. The RVA is very well positioned to decide where best to prioritise help through the demands of the charities they work with and they are a resource that RBC can turn to as and when required.

RVA are currently seeking Coronavirus Response Volunteers. If you could help and/or know of others who might be able to help then please use this link to sign-up.
